What we deliver

JDS Designs converts measured building surveys into accurate, fully dimensioned CAD drawings that UK architectural practices can design from with confidence. This is the as-existing base drawing set, produced before any proposed design work begins.

We work from your survey data, whatever form it takes, whether that is a site survey carried out by your own surveyor, point cloud or laser scan data, hand-measured notes, or a topographical survey. The drawings we return are dimensionally accurate, properly scaled, and structured so your team can build proposed layouts directly on top of them without re-checking measurements.

Frequently asked questions

  • We work from point cloud data, laser scan output, topographical survey files, hand-measured site notes, and scanned survey sketches. If you are unsure whether your data is usable, send it across and we will confirm before starting.

  • We convert survey data into CAD drawings. We do not currently carry out on-site surveys in the UK, so this service assumes survey data has already been collected.

  • Existing drawings produced from this service form the base for a planning application but are typically paired with our Planning Drawings service, which adds the proposed drawings and full submission pack.

  • Both. Where a topographical survey is supplied, we include site levels, boundary features, and existing site conditions alongside the building drawings.
